William Lloyd Penniman papers, 1897-1955. 1897-1955.

Papers and photographs of William Lloyd Penniman, MD (1866-1955). Included are a license to practice medicine from the Illinois State Board of Health (1897), a diary of cases from his first year in practice (abandoned except for random notes after 12 entries), a daily visiting list and record for 1934, a file of documents from Army Medical Corps service at Camp Grant, Illinois (1918) and four photographic portraits including one of him at Camp Grant. Also includes parchment diploma from Barnes Medical College, 1897, William Lloyd (document reads: Loyd) Penniman. The donor is Dr. W.L. Penniman's grandson.

Physician. William Lloyd (Loyd) Penniman (1866-1955) received his medical degree from Barnes Medical College in 1897 and he was licensed in Illinois the same year. He practiced medicine in Shipman, IL (1898-1906), then moved to Deer Creek (1906-1915). He was later on the staff of Brokaw Hospital in Normal (1915-1936). At the end of World War I in 1918, he served at Camp Grant, Illinois by treating returning soldiers during the great influenza epidemic. He retired in 1936...
